Ah its that time of year again. Its time for all the craziness that the holidays bring. I have a crazy amount of stuff to do in the next few weeks.
We as a staff at Bayside have our Christmas party coming up tomorrow night and it should be pretty good. Its a potluck style dinner with a live band and some awards should be passed out to the staff. Then after that we as a high school staff get to go set up "The Barn" for our small group leader Christmas party. then we have The Hub for our weekend services and The Overlap for Sunday night. The Overlap is our experiential worship night that our student leadership puts on. The way its been planned out it should be an awesome night!
With all the holiday busyness, i am trying to figure out gifts for my family and friends for Christmas....its going to be a tad bit more difficult this year since I am making less then half of the money I was making last year during this time...So I think its time to get creative! I need idea's though. So if you have any hit me up.
Although I absolutely love Christmas time...I am even more excited about the day after Christmas. No I will not be participating in the craziness of getting up at the crack of dawn to get the "Best Deals Ever!" But because I will be heading back down to Long Beach to visit and hang out with my 2nd family! We are going to hang out and throw a big New Years bash. Hopefully while i am down there I can hit up the Queen Mary. for some reason I am very intrigued by it...after being down there last week I looked up the history of the ship and found out a lot of cool things about it. So hopefully I will be able to hop on board!
I will update my blog on December 31st and talk about the amazing roller coaster that the year 2008 was. So untill then. Merry Christmas!

The Bridge,The Shore and MOTAS
Ok so first off...It has been an awesome week! I have put in alot of hours, but I feel it was totally worth it and can't wait to see what God has next!
We had our Sr.High Kickoff on Wednesday "The Bridge" Started off with a bang! With a crowd of close to 400, the 5 minute countdown was coming to an end, KJ and Clint were handing out the new Bridge shirts and kids were going crazy! The energy was fantastic! The service went off great! There was a few minor glitches here and there plus some pictures falling off the wall, but other then that, the night went smoothly. Danny Macphail lead worship through song and he did a great job. KJ spoke and had some great anologies to go along with a great talk. We had an awesome student video along with a really funny staff video! The night ended and I had alot of students come up to me and the rest of the staff saying they loved it and had a great time! Its nice to hear that from the students! So after we cleaned up and got everything packed in boxes and storage bins, it was time to go home!

Thursday was awesome too. The Sr.high staff got together and had our weekly meeting. We went over alot of stuff that we could do better, but for the most part we had a great time just celebrating!

Gil, Nemo and myself started on our ministry fair t-shirts, They are going to be awesome. We should have the best dressed staff on the campus! Bridge Badminton baby!!!
I then headed over to The Shore. I was a wee bit late but when I walked through the front doors, I was amazed to see that there were almost 500 people there! One of the Chaplin's that helped with 9/11 spoke. She had some great stories about how God totally showed Himself through the tradegady that was 9/11.
After The Shore, Nemo prepared the green room for MOTAS (Movie on Thursday after Shore) We watched "Kindergarten Cop" I will admit the movie selection for the week was not as good as past weeks. I will also admit that I was pretty much falling asleep the whole time. I was just exhausted, not because the movie sucked.
Next up...Ministry Fair!

Essentials of House Sitting
So It's that time again. My aunt and uncle are away on their yearly vacation and they ask me each year to house sit and take care of their dog Lexy. Luckily Lex is very low maintenance and I can leave her outside for hours on end and she is fine. Altough I dont try to leave her outside to long. So I thought I would write down some things that are essential for house sitting. Here they are!
Food - Obviously food is always essential but sometimes people leave you NO food when they give you the keys for 2 weeks. If this happens I would advise to never house sit for these so called "friends" anymore. If they dont leave you food it shows that they could care less about your health and wellness while your taking care of their house. Which in-turn actually is a negative for them! No food, no energy, no will to live...So if theives decided it's a good week to hit the "Robinsons" house...you wont even have any energy or umph to even call the police. FOOD IS A MUST!
Friends - If you are house sitting you need to be able to bring friends over. If not then there is a good chance you could go crazy and start talking to yourself, which isn't good thing...ever! If the home owners dont like you having friends over then, once again I would advise you to NEVER house sit for them again. Luckily my aunt and uncle are cool and they dont care if I bring friends over...as long as I leave the house the way I found it.
Entertainment - Hopefully the house your watching has some form of entertainment. i.e. Big Screen, Xbox, Ping-Pong table, Pool Table, Swimming Pool or a large collection of board games for those board game geeks! I am excited to say that my aunt and uncle have a big screen, and pool table! I brought some of my favorite board games for a little extra entertainment. You need incentives to watch a house, and if the house doesnt have some sort of entertainment value then it's not worth watching.
Money/Gift - Now hopefully the home owners have a plan to either pay you for your services and or give you a sweet gift from their travels. My aunt and uncle dont leave me money but they do get me a gift...which is usually a good one. But if you dont get money or a gift, then you must really really owe the home owner's a big favor!
Well those are some of the essentials...I could think of more but need to do other things with my time.

Good week!
Yup this is my first blog post!
This week was my first week of a new chapter in my life. Started working at Bayside as a high school intern. I also started sierra college again after being gone for a year and a half. It was awesome. I love my new job and cant wait for the new changes to take full effect within the the sr.high ministry. School was quite stressfull though. I was not able to register for any classes at all before school started. So I basically had to try and add all my classes. Woke up Monday morning I went and tried to add a English A class. After being 7th on the add list and the teacher not being super excited about the class size, I decided to just not push it and take the class next semester. Tuesday I decided to add English 37 American Film Masterpiece and was able to convince Nemo and Jonny B to add with me! I was also convinced to add Human Developement 1 by Nemo and Jonny B who will be te-voing it from his house.
Work was also great! Got my desk set up last friday so it was ready for me Monday. I get in Monday morning and start my week off with a meeting! Got some tasks added to my empty list of things to do and have been busy most of the week doing those things. We had the Prelude on Wednesday night. The turn out was great!!! we had about 65 people there all together. Clint spoke on change and we had a great prayer time!
Wednesday after the prelude. Nemo and myself decided to have a movie night. We watched Cloverfield in the Green Room at Bayside. It was so much fun that we decided to do it again on Thursday! So we went to The Shore and then invited a whole bunch of people afterwards to join us for our cinematic adventure! We watched The Village and about 10 people were there! It was a great night! I think we are going to be doing it again next Thursday too!
Today was a chill day. I woke up at 9am and started my first day working from home for Weckworth. I was able to get 3 hours in. Then went and chowed down on some Costa Vida for lunch with the fam. Then off to Century Theaters to watch Traitor. It was pretty good. I wouldnt see it again unless someone rented it for me.
